Why You Need A VPN

Why You Need A VPN

Alright now, I have talked about in the past why you should consider getting a VPN (Virtual Private Network) for security reasons, for privacy reasons and something happen just a couple of days ago that is really scary, it should scare everyone. It didn’t happen to me but it could literally happen to any of us.

So before I get ahead of myself, what is a VPN? It’s basically an Encrypted Tunnel Service. So you pay a company a couple of bucks a month and then it routes all your internet traffic through this encrypted tunnel and it’s basically a proxy so Internet Service Provider (ISP) can’t see what you are doing and websites that you are using can’t directly trace back through your IP address because you are using this VPN’s IP address.

So basically, it gives a little bit of security so people can’t track what you are doing online. So why is this relevant now? So that is why at this point seriously try using a VPN if you are willing to all the time or at least when you are able to.

Some services block VPN’s and you can filter out those and not use them but this is why I say you got to be

https://buyweedillinois.com/product/pineapple-express-1-pound/careful about the kind of stuff that goes because you are not as private as you think.

We are going to get into how to actually setup a VPN, a couple of services as an example and am not getting paid to talk about this services at all, this is not a sponsored post. So let me go over some of those.

So now there are a lot of different VPN services out there, some of them are free, some of them are not. You want to stay away from the free ones, you remember the old expression that “if it’s free then you are the product”, right! make sense. You can’t trust them if you are not paying for it cause they have to be making money somehow. They are probably making it by tracking you, it’s not what you want.

If you go with the paid service of reliable, trustworthy paid service then they say that they don’t keep logs, that even if they have request they are not going to be able to hand over information. You are only going to get that with the paid service.

Now there is a bunch of them some examples are:

These are the ones I have heard of and are pretty good. The one I personally use is Private Internet Access. Again, this is not a sponsored post, there is no affiliate link here and I am not getting paid to say it, this is just my personal experience. I will recommend it because am happy with the service.

So if you want to know how to set it up so basically what you have to do is just go to the site, it’s like 3 bucks a month if you do the yearly thing. It’s like 40 bucks a year right! for all the features or if you want to do month to month, it’s like 7 bucks a month.

This isn’t exactly high price service right! And they have service all over the world that you can connect to so it’s local and setting it up is not difficult you know, this might sound, the old virtual private network I don’t know how to set it up. It’s easy, you just pay for it, they give you a username and login, you download their app, you log in and you are off. That is all you have to do, you don’t have to set anything up. It installs all the technology you need and then you just pick the server you want to connect to.

You can do auto or manually pick one and then your traffic is encrypted.

Now I will say that any VPN is not hundred percent full proof cause you don’t know what other kinds of secret technology the government has, there is a thing called Deep Packet Inspection where if an internet service company or the government really want to find out  who you are, they could probably do it by looking at timestamps saying ok well we got this request from this website that at the time that this person made some request, we don’t know who it is but the timings lines up exactly but it will at least protect you from the internet source provider just being easily able to say oh yes this person is downloading a torrent or yeah this person is the one that posted this, really easy and it definitely stops a reporter from saying hey can you give me the customer information for this IP address.

You know what I mean what I just talked about. It can protect you from all that unless the government really wants to get you specifically, you don’t want to worry about any of that stuff because it’s encrypted.

So that is why I think you just set it up, it’s really easy. You don’t have to even use it all the time but I think if you can you should.

For someone like me who has gigabit internet where it does say it supports up gigabit but if you are going to be using a proxy you are going to lose some bandwidth along in the way but if you have anything less than gigabit, you are going to get your full speed anyway so for me I use it maybe you can disable it for some apps as well on your phone especially.

So you can use it for some things but not others but I think at this point everyone should have a VPN. There is no reason not to, it’s cheap enough and just from what we have seen it’s kind of proven off that you can’t trust anyone these days. It’s just going to get worst in the future as our privacy arose and this is something at least you can do in the main time.
