we are going to be talking about a major new windows update that we have known about for a while, it's coming closer so we got a lot more updates on changes that this fall creators update is going to have and that is what am going to talk about some

So there is actually a lot of interesting stuff that they are implementing and let’s just talk about it and here is the fun fact you might not have realized, the version numbers for the windows releases, the big updates actually represent the year and month (YYMM) they were released about.
So the first two numbers represent the year while the second two numbers represent the month. So the next one is going to be 1709 even though it’s going to be October and that works for the previous ones as well.
Anyway here is the first feature that you guys might find interesting:
- Inactive Program Throttling
Windows is going to be able to throttle programs that are inactive at the moment, so if you are not using it, it might throttle down resources that it’s using.
- Windows on ARM Platforms
Next up here is something that is actually pretty major and that is windows is teaming up with QUALCOMM to release a version of windows that will run on ARM Architecture Chips and if you don’t know what that means let me explain, so there is a bunch of different types of chips, there is like AMD64, i386. Your computer does not use ARM64 Architecture. That is mostly like for like mobile phones like the Snapdragon Processors and the Raspberry Pi, those use a different architecture that is mostly oriented towards very small portable devices.
Anyway, Microsoft is making it so windows 10 will be able to run on this mobile architecture processors so for example, the next Snapdragon 835 and chips will also be able to run like regular windows programs. May be on future phones we will be able to run emulated versions of windows programs which is really weird and might only work on certain types of applications and obviously, they are partnering with QUALCOMM here so they might unlock the feature on specific devices.
I don’t know how much they are going to open this up but not even necessarily phones but tablets anything else that uses this ARM64 architecture might be able to run native windows programs where before it would not have been able to run them at all.
I don’t know how big of an effect this is going to have but I personally think it’s a big deal that you are basically allowing a whole section of devices to be able to use windows programs now and they even said heavy programs like Adobe Photoshop, those are not resource limited, those are big time programs.
So I think this is pretty exciting, I think it’s going to open up a lot of new use cases for these mobile processors maybe make mobile Pc’s a lot more common because it would allow both the mobility and the functionality so we will have to see there is a lot we can talk about with this feature, so let move on and keep talking more about windows.
- Microsoft is killing off MS Paint
They are calling it a depreciated feature so they are not going to develop it anymore
- Story Remix in the Photo app
It allows you to edit videos and add effects in pictures and stuffs like that and that will be added in as part of the photos app, so that is going to be in the next creator's update. Some of the effects they showed were actually pretty neat so we will have to see how that turns out.
- My People Hub
There is going to be a little area where it will show all your contacts across several different platforms so not just your Microsoft account friends but also like Xbox, Skype, that sort of thing.
So you will have all your contacts in one place so you can message them on a cross platform, send them emails or whatever. In this way, so you don’t have to go into each individual program like if you want to call someone on skype, you don’t have to go in that necessarily.
This was actually supposed to be in the previous update in spring but I guess it wasn’t finished yet but finally they will be adding it in this one hopefully and I don’t think they will take it out again.
- Power Throttling Feature
So there is going to be a new slider that you can use from the taskbar, you click on the battery and it will allow you to change the power setting in your computer whether it is in power saver mode or high performance or whatever.
You can now slide between them which is kind of needy if you want to play a video game and you want the maximum performance, you can put it on high performance then and turn it back later really easy. So I think this is a very neat feature.
- TruePlay Anti-Cheat
They are adding a new feature called TruePlay for games but before they were going to called it Game Monitor but now it’s called TruePlay and it’s basically an anti-cheat software and built into the operating system which is really unheard of, I don’t think we have heard of this being proposed before but here they are adding it as a feature so the idea is this TruePlay feature is going to be a setting in windows and you can enable it or disable it but some games may presumably require that you have this TruePlay enabled so it won’t allow you to cheat because sometimes obviously we know that cheating programs for video game kind of bypass the game’s ability to see that it's cheating but obviously if it’s the operating system itself taking a look to see if you are cheating, it’s going to be able to detect cheats a lot better and I think cheaters are not going to be happy about this and I really hope they implement this into a lot of games.
It might not be implemented into too many at first because you know obviously it will only work for windows users but hey now that the feature is there, if it turns out amazing, I think this will be pretty neat.
- Eye Tracking
Windows 10 is going to support eye tracking. It’s going to be an accessibility feature am assuming. So I think it’s going to allow certain devices, I think one is called the Tobii eye-tracking where it sits in front of you and actually looks into your eyes to see what you are looking at and I guess people who are actually disabled who don’t have full use of their arms can actually use this to navigate in windows and maybe be not even just for that but if you are playing a video game, it might support that for looking around. I know there are games in the past like flight simulators, they kind of allow this type of head tracking and eye tracking but this is something that is built into the operating system now.
Pretty interesting to see if not just accessibility programs start using it but also like main stream programs as a cool secondary feature especially games, I think that it will be pretty awesome actually.
- You Can Now Let Windows Automatically Process Video To Enhance It
Apparently, windows is going to be able to enhance the videos that you are going to be watching. A couple of ways it might do this is upscaling like super sampling or having to do with HDR or artificially processing it to HDR that sort of thing but obviously, I don’t think it would make a huge difference.
Most of these enhancement processors don’t really do that much of a deal.
- More Emoji Support
Windows 10 is going to support emoji 5.0, so a new set of emoji’s that is going to be integrated into the keyboard so it’s a lot more accessible to add emoji’s where ever you are typing, might be needy for you guys that like to use emoji’s all the time, now it will be even easier
There are still a few things we never really got which was like the Music Maker they talked about like last year, I guess they never really release that or finish it whatever. I’d love to see that like because I think it will be amazing for people who are into music and maybe don’t want to shell out money for a Digital Audio Workstation.
So it will be pretty awesome to high one built in right into the operating system and remember we are still a couple of months out so they expect it will be out in October but the version number might suggest September maybe towards the end of that somewhere in that range.
The point is there is going to be a lot more development between then and now so we could start to see some big features that they add that we haven’t even heard about. Am pretty excited based on what we have already seen.
